Our pendants are a new way to enjoy the benefits of healing gemstone energies!

Pendants provide an opportunity for people to work with rare, high-quality gemstones that would otherwise be unaffordable as a full necklace or bracelet. We also believe that pendants will be a good first step into Gemstone Therapy for those completely new to the concept.

In addition, they

• Consist of a sterling silver cap and open-able bale.
• Are custom-made for us and engraved with "GF" which stands for GEMFormulas.
• Can be worn with the "GF" logo pointing outward or inward.
• Are packaged with a 1" x 1" non-abrasive, brown anti-tarnish strip, which should be kept with the pendant during storage.

The idea for pendants arose during our 2011 company retreat in Port Clyde, Maine. After years of planning, designing, and tweaking we are thrilled to offer our first therapeutic-quality gemstone pendant: Rubellite/Pink Tourmaline.

How to Wear Pendants

Our therapuetic-quality pendants are best worn anywhere below the sternal notch (the u-shaped indentation at the base of the throat). Some pendants have more specific requirements. The Rubellite/Pink Tourmaline pendant is best worn at or near the thymus gland. In other words, it should lay relatively high on the chest.

Pendants can be worn with any of our gemstone necklaces, or your favorite chain or cording of your choice.

Choose a gemstone necklace that is compatible with your energy field at any given time.  (A necklace is compatible with your energy field when it feels as though it is drawn toward your body when you hold it in front of your chest.)

We do not recommend wearing GEMFormulas’ pendants with any gemstone necklace that could be easily scratched by the pendant’s sterling silver bale. These include Rhodocrosite (Loving Me), Blue-Green Fluorite (Living River), and Apatite (Core Four). If you wear a pendant with Frosted Quartz, scuff marks may appear on the Quartz, which are easily wiped off.


To Fasten a Pendant onto a Gemstone Necklace

1. Inspect the bale to find a lip at the base of it on one side.
2. Gently hold the bale and lift up the lip. The bale will open.
3. Hook the bale over the knot between the beads of a gemtone necklace. Do not force the bale over the gems.
4. Press the sides of the bale together to lock it closed.

Good Questions

How do pendants compare with necklaces?
Our pendants allow you to enjoy the benefits of a particular gemstone at a fraction of the cost of an entire necklace. Your body’s energetic needs, personal preferences, and budget will determine whether a pendant, necklace, or bracelet of a particular gemstone is the best choice for you.   

I don’t own any gemstone necklaces – can I still wear a pendant?
Yes! Clip the pendant onto any chain or cording you desire. Or select from our genuine sterling silver chains in the GEMFormulas shop.

Why are you offering silver chains?
We are offering affordable sterling silver chains so that people who would like to take a first step into Gemstone Therapy can do so, without having to a gemstone necklace. We realize that not everyone’s energy field is compatible with silver, so these chains won’t be for everyone.

Did the Gemstone Guardians help you with the pendants?
Yes. They are continually guiding us with every gemstone and spray we offer.

If I wear a pendant on a GEMFormulas' necklace, can I wear other necklaces too?
Yes. You would wear the pendant in addition to any other necklaces you might otherwise be wearing.

Do pendants need clearing? If so, how?
Yes. Pendants are easily cleared with our GEMFormulas' Energy Clearing, EMR Clearing, and Diamond Clearing sprays. Only a few squirts of spray is required. Cleanse after each use. You may also wipe the pendant with a soft cloth to buff the silver if it collects fingerprints.

How should I best store my GEMFormulas' pendants?
Our pendants come with a 1" x 1" brown, non-abrasive, anti-tarnish strip. Store your pendant along with the strip. If you wear your pendant regularly, the natural oils it collects will prevent tarnishing naturally. If the sterling silver does become tarnished, polish with an anti-tarnishing cloth.

Do pendants require any special care?
The open-able bale is sturdy, but should be handled gently. Open and close carefully. Do not force the bale over a necklace that may be too large. The bale will fit over the knot between the beads in a gemstone necklace.

Is there any energetic sigificance to the pendant's design?
The cap has four petals. The number four represents the four cardinal points: north, east, south, and west, to remind us that we, and all the gemstones, owe our life to planet Earth. The four-petalled flower is also a metaphor of birth and new beginnings.

Why sterling silver?
We chose sterling silver because it was a precious metal and relatively affordable. Also, more gemstones have an affinity with silver than gold. The silver offers an energetic influence that is positive, uplifting, and somewhat feminine in nature.

"I was offered the opportunity to wear a pendant of Rubellite/Pink Tourmaline pendant on a twenty-four inch chain around my neck as a protective gemstone against computer radiation.  I welcomed the opportunity as I had never experienced the “hands on” value of gemstones in providing protection or therapeutic solutions to problems affecting the human body.  Also, men don’t wear such things!
