When we purchase a parcel of gemstones we always highgrade them, meaning we separate out beads that are broken, misshapen, or that do not meet our clarity standards. When we were highgrading this parcel of Opalite, we noticed that a small portion of spheres had a reddish coloration, rather than pure tans, creams, and browns. When we separated these out, we noticed they had a warming effect that was also therapeutic.

When we strung them with Golden Beryl, we realized its warming effect could be soothing for memories that were particularly difficult to look at. Red Opalite can be used for any therapies that call for regular Opalite. We are able to provide this special gemstone, but in a limited supply.

Opalite & Golden Beryl Forehead Placement

This technique is particularly relaxing. You may experience a sense of expansion while using the Opalite & Golden Beryl in this way. This would be a good method to try when you need some help falling asleep.

1. While lying down, fold the necklace in half so that the two Golden Beryl gemstones are touching.
2. Lay the necklace across your forehead in such a way that the two Golden Beryls lie in the center of your forehead.
3. Close your eyes, relax, and enjoy.

Opalite & Golden Beryl Karmic Resolution Therapy

The purpose of an Opalite & Golden Beryl body placement is to help the placement area connect with its karma. When the intelligence centers in the area are aware of the reasons for its underlying health, healing is more likely to take place. Opalite Quality-Rating Scale

Opalite is the name we give to an opaque stone with a tan to cream-colored background with characteristic lines in various shades of brown and gray. These lines are typically wavy and arranged randomly around the sphere. Occasionally a sphere will have a patch of colorless, white, bluish, or grayish transparent material, which we consider a bonus as long as it does not appear excessively throughout the necklace.

Color

A measures of how crisp the characteristic lines appear on the underlying background color.

5A Lines are particularly well distributed evenly around the bead, and clearly defined. Bright background color. 4A Lines are obvious and clearly defined. 3A Lines are light in color, not strongly contrasting against the background color, but they do not blend in with the background color.

2A Lines may blend and blur with the background color.

Clarity

A measure of how even and well-populated the lines are on an Opalite sphere.

5A Well-populated crisp lines are evenly distributed around the bead. 4A Spheres are well populated with crisp lines. 3A Lines may be minimal, light, or not particularly crisp.

2A Lines are absent or hard to see.

Candescence

A measure of how well polished the gems are, how well they shine.

3A Nice shine.

2A Adequate shine.

Note about grading Opalite necklaces:

We usually include a variety of 3A and 5A color and clarity grades in an Opalite necklace to give it a balanced feel. We grade necklace color and clarity conservatively, based on the overall look of the piece.
